ChordBuddy Junior

I got this junior guitar from ChordBuddy for review and  my kids are delighted especially the little Miss  who immediately said "I want to try it!"  This is a real guitar , only that it is designed for   little musicians who wants to  start their  skills early on.  The set includes  1/2 size guitar, songbook, DVD, guitar tuner, and the chord buddy jr.

If you are a regular reader of my blogs, you probably read in my previous post that my daughter wants  a guitar that we  saw at the Center for Music  & Arts.  The reason, we haven't  buy her one yet is because the guitar instructor there said that she is too young to start, that the guitar is too big for her body built.  Well, that issue  is resolved  with this ChordBuddy Junior guitar.  Kids can learn rhythm and timing, ear training, and build finger strength and dexterity.  This guitar is  appropriate for  4 years old and up.
What I like about this kit is that, kids can easily learn the basic  keys  with it's  chord buddy that  you can attached on the string.  The chord buddy has different color  that makes it easier for the  kids to remember what keys they have to put their fingers on.
The guitar picks are great addition to the kit as your fingers won't hurt when you strum the strings.  I remember when I  first learn how to strum  a guitar, my  fingers would be so sore as  I didn't use a pick.  It's funny that my  daughter was  kidding at me when I    played this guitar, I got tempted hahaha.  It's been a while since I last played a guitar and I can't even remember what I have learned before.
This guitar tuner  is  great because  there is an indication when your strings are out of tune already.  The kit comes with  two batteries which is really nice.  Tuning your guitar is easier with this  tuner because  there is a green light that indicates that your string is tuned up.
The kit also comes with a songbook and a DVD that you can watch for tutorials.  Our daughter immediately sat down and watched it.
This  Chord Buddy Junior kit  is available at chordbuddy.com for $169.95.  This would be a great  gift for your little music enthusiast so if you are looking for a good gift idea,  you might want to  get this one.
Before having this  guitar, she plays piano  right away as soon as she gets home from school but ever since we got this guitar, she immediately get it and play a tune or two.  I thought for sure that our son would be all over this guitar since he  is not into piano but I was wrong.  I think my little man is so scared of trying thinking that he will not be good at it.  He love to sing and dance but he hasn't shown any interest  of playing music instrument.  Maybe it will change when he grow up though.

  4. We've been looking for one just like this!!! Hubby bought our little girl a guitar two Chrismases ago but she hasn't been able to use it coz it's too big and heavy for her. I got her a small ukelele instead just so she could practice strumming. I wonder is chord buddy ships to the Philippines.

    1. HI Mommy Olga, same thing with us. Our daughter asked us if we could buy her a guitar since last year but we hold off because the instructor said that she is too small to learn a guitar. Glad that Chordbuddy makes this junior sizes ones.

    1. Thanks Alma. I am very surprised because I thought for sure my son would be the one to get interest in these instruments as he love to sing and dance, where our daughter doesn't like singing. She can sing but she said that if she can play music without singing, she'll be fine lol.
